Go Farther with Dual Batteries
NIU has a new dual battery e-bike called BQI C3 Pro.  This dual battery design increases it’s range up to 90 miles. In addition, the placement of the dual batteries also helps to increase the step through width.  This bike can go farther and has the best step through width I’ve ever experienced with e-bikes.  Charging is a snap using one charger with a dual output cable.

Class 2/3 E-Bike
When using throttle only, the BQI C3 Pro’s maximum speed will 20mph (class 2).  To move faster, don’t touch the throttle, just pedal and you can reach a top speed of 28mph (class 3).  Want to get a workout? Leave the bike in mode 0 and ride under your own strength and enjoy your workout.

Halo Light
Unlike a lot of other e-bikes, when you turn the BQI C3 Pro on the front light and brake light will automatically turn on.  For more light, press the up button and hold for about 2 seconds or until you see the display dim.   The light works great and looks great too.

Specs
No More Chain!
NIU has done away with the traditional chain and uses a Gates Carbon Drive.  The claim is that a Gates Carbon Drive last for more than 10,000 miles and you never have to add any grease. Meaning it should last 33 times longer than traditional bike chains.

Brakes
It’s equipped with 180mm front and rear mechanical disc brakes.

Motor
The Rear Bafang Motor  is a 500w motor with 750w peak power

Top Speed

  • Pedal assist max speed is 28mph
  • Throttle assist max speed is 20mph

Tires
Tires are 27.5” x 2.4”  the tread is great for commenting through city streets.

Rear Rack
The built in rear rack can carry up to 66 pounds

Display
I really like the bright TFT display.  This display is the brightest I’ve seen and works great in the bright sunlight.  The screen is 3.5” and it’s laid out in a very easy to read format.

Front Halo Light
The front light turns on with the bike so you never have to remember to turn it on which is a great safety feature.  Plus, holding down the Up button for about 2 seconds will turn on the center LED for more light.

Batteries
Okay, another biggie for NIU is that they have incorporated a dual 920w, 48v, 20Ah Battery system. These batteries are cleverly mounted in a V part of the frame that also makes this the easiest step through bike I have ever stepped through. If you have trouble getting onto bikes you’ll really appreciate this wide open space making this bike really easy to get on and go.

Range
Thanks to the dual batteries the BQI C2 Pro has a range of up to 90 miles per charge.  Note, range will vary on riding style, modes used and payload.

The Good
With dual batteries you’ll spend more time riding than worrying about how much power is left.  The front light comes on automatically so that’s just another thing less to worry about.  The placement of the dual batteries also helps out with the step through.  It’s super wide step through makes it the easiest bike I’ve ever gotten on and off of.  If you have been avoiding any bikes because you have problems pedaling due to issues with bad knees, hips, etc., this bike might be the right choice for you.  It has a cadence sensor which makes pedaling very easy to do at any speed.  Plus, if you don’t want to pedal at all simply use the throttle and off you go.

The Bad
The worse thing about this bike is the placement of the kickstand.  It’s simply too close to the pedals.  If you are like me, from time to time you might roll the bike back a little without lifting the kickstand.  This is usually okay to do but with this bike, when you roll it back while the kickstand is still down, the pedals will hit and lock up with the kickstand which can become annoying after doing this multiple times.

Overall
The NIU BQI C3 Pro is on the expensive side but they have put a lot of value into it.  The dual batteries alone is probably worth nearly half the cost of the bike.  I have my own personal gripe when it comes to brakes, I prefer hydraulic brakes and the BQI C3 Pro is equipped with mechanical brakes.  The mechanical brakes work fine and they can easily be changed over to hydraulic so don’t let this be a deal breaker.  The BQI C3 Pro has plenty of power, can go the distance, replaced the chain drive with a belt system, awesome looking front halo light and is the easiest e-bike ever to get on and off of.   This bike is going to make a lot of people very happy.
