Out Of The Box
Today, it’s pretty much standard practice that e-Bikes come mostly assembled. All you have to do is assemble a few parts like the handlebar, front wheel, display, pedals, etc. It should take about 30-45 minutes to assemble.
Puckipuppy included the following accessories:
Mirrors
Phone Holder
Bottle Holder
Bike Lock
Bike Cover

Puckipuppy GoldenR Specs
Speed
The GoldenR is a class 2 e-Bike. When throttling it will top out at 20 MPH. With pedal assist it’s supposed to top out at 28 MPH but my max speed was 34 MPH!
Tires
This is a Fat Tire eBike and in place of big floppy paws the GoldenR comes with a set of 26.0″ x 4.0″ tires.
Dual Motors and Torque
Unlike most eBikes with a single hub motor, the GoldenR features two hub motors! The rear has a whopping 960w motor and the front has a 540w motor and together they peak at 1600w with a 1250w standard rating. The GoldenR also has a Peak Torque of 185Nm.
Weight
The GoldenR has a lot of power and torque which is great for getting up most hills but keep in mind that with the addition of the second motor the GoldenR is a pretty heavy eBike weighing in at about 93 LBS.
Throttle Type
To control the motors Pucklpuppy went with a thumb throttle. For off-road riding I personally would have preferred a half twist throttle for more power accuracy but overall I’m fine with the thumb throttle.
Battery
To power the GoldnR Puckipuppy installed a 48v 20AH battery which is UL 2271 Compliant to ensure safety and reliability. Puckipuppy also claims that it will get 40 to 80 miles. That’s a pretty wide range but I get it, the range is based off a lot of things like added weight, if you going up a lot of hills, constant use of the throttle. All these things will affect the range you’ll get from the GoldenR.
Gearing
Not so uncommon, the GoldenR comes with an easy to shift Shamano 7 speed system.
Sensor Trype
This is a cadence sensor e-Bike and up until now, e-Bikes with cadence sensors have always produced too much ghost pedaling in the upper high speeds for my tastes. Some worse than other and because of this I normally prefer torque sensor over cadence sensor e-Bikes, but the cadence sensor on the GoldenR feels great with very little ghost pedaling when at top speeds. My guess is this might be because of the second motor.
Weight and Rider Height
The max payload capacity for this eBike is 400 lbs. Puckipuppy says it will accommodate people from 5’4” to 6’6” and once you’re sitting and riding this is true but keep in mind the minimum saddle height is 35.6” which can make it a little challenging at a stop for some people. For taller people the maximum saddle height is 39.4”.
Suspension
For Suspension It has an adjustable Front Fork and a center shock absorber. This is a good combination and really helps when traveling off-road.
