SpiderWayne’s Video Review

The new Falcon E-Scooter from Varla
When Varla asked me if I would like to review one of their new scooter for 2023 I jumped at the opportunity.  I’ve loved every scooter Varla has sent to me and this time was no different.   The Falcon is another great e-scooter to Varla’s already great lineup.  The Falcon leans on the more on the side of being an affordable e-scooter.  This mean’s a slightly bit less power with it being a single 500w motor.  Brakes are down from hydraulic to mechanical but don’t let this discourage you.   The Falcon, with a top speed of 22mph is all you need and it will get you there very fast. For stopping power the Falcon uses a mechanical disk brake along with a motor cutoff which together works very well.   In addition, Varla has added lights to the lower deck which really adds a nice touch and increases your chances of being seen when riding in the evening.  Varla continues to include dual suspension and and strong, stable stem to help keep you comfortable while riding.

Getting It Together
Up till now getting an e-scooter ready to ride was as simple as unboxing it, attaching the handlebar, charging the battery and taking off.  Varla has added an extra step with the Falcon… now, you also have to fish the brake line through the scooter, to the rear brake and attach the line yourself.  This threw me for a loop.  For me the line went through half the scooter just fine but the second half took a few extra tries and after a little forceful shoving it went through.  Attaching the line is very easy but the initial experience was a bit of a disappointment. However, this was just something new that I had to do and not a deal breaker.   I explain in more detail in my video down below.

The Good
The Varla Falcon is a quality built e-scooter.  With a top speed of 22mph it’s more than enough for most conditions plus it till get you there fast.   The Falcon has a custom, warm look about it that is aesthetically pleasing.  The addition of colored lights along the side of the deck is a nice touch that will also be useful for night time riders.

The Bad
I would have preferred a lightly brighter display.  During a bright day the display can be a little hard to see.  Also, I would have preferred to have had the brake line already installed.  While this is not a deal breaker I think some people might not be too happy about doing this themselves.
