Mokwheel Basalt – Not Your Ordinary E-Bike

The Basalt by Mokwheel has a lot of power and a few tricks to go with it.
Right out of the box I could tell this bike was special. It has a beautiful paint job with blue, chrome and black details. The Mokwheel name is tastefully placed on the bike in almost chrome lettering along the down tube. Most of the bike comes put together which means you’ll be out riding right away.
Power
Like most e-bikes, the Basalt has 5 levels of power assistance and tops out at 20mph when using both power assist 5 along with the throttle. However, this is where everything changes! After you reach the top speed of 20mph, if you release the throttle and keep pedaling the bike should now top out at 28pmh but for me I found myself hitting 31.5mph! Yes, this e-bike has a lot of get up and go!
Power and the Sun
The Mokwheel Basalt has another trick and that comes in the form of solar power. Mokwheel has two accessories for the Basalt by way of a power inverter and solar panels. At the time of my review these parts were not available but Mokwheel said they will ship them to me once they have them in stock. Be on the lookout for my review once I have the inverter and solar panels.

The Good
Easy to put together, more power than most e-bikes in its class, integrated brake light and it’s a beautiful e-bike! Worth mentioning that Mokwheel also has solar panels and a power inverter that sells as accessories to the Basalt but I will save my thought for a later review when I have them.
The Bad
Absolutely Nothing
