The Surprise Is In The Ride
I unbox the bike and quickly put it together and say to myself, “hmm not bad looking”. Looks rugged, cool logo, and wait!… those fenders with the black and silver racing strips is awesome!

The question that is now on everyone’s mind is how does it ride so let’s get into it.  The first ride I do before going for a long ride to review the bike is just to take it out and make sure everything is functioning.  To do this I go for a quick ride, down the driveway, a lap or two in my cul-de-sac then back up my driveway and put it away until I’m ready to actually review the bike.   Everything seemed fine but a little slow, especially when I tried going back up my driveway, which has a slight incline and the bike made it up but barely.  At this point I thought this isn’t good and wasn’t looking forward to reviewing it.

However, once out for a real ride with my buddies that were on bikes that claimed to reach speeds of up to 28 mph something exciting happened… I out ran them!  We were all cruising at about 15 mph and I decided to switch from pedal assist 3 to pedal assist 5 and fully throttle and pedal the bike and I quickly hit 28 mph!  I left my buddies in the dust and when they caught up to me they both said the same thing that they tried to catch up to me but couldn’t.  Yes, I  had a little bit of a head start because I didn’t tell them I was going to take off but never the less, this bike does perform when you need it to!

Who Is This E-Bike For?
If you’re in the market for your first e-bike and you’re looking for one that won’t take off, out from under you then this is the bike for you.   By no means am I  saying it’s a slow, powerless bike.  In fact, once you are comfortable with the bike while in pedal assist 1 and 2, try out pedal assist 3.  Pedal assist 3 will put you in a comfortable, cruising speed.  Now, once you have your confidence up, and you’re feeling a bit daring, switch to pedal assist 4 and then 5, keep pedaling and you’ll soon be hitting speeds between 20-28 mph!  Keep in mind, 20 mph is the legal speed limit for most places with class 2 e-bikes but if you need it to maybe get up a hill, the power will be there.

The Good
Great for first time buyers.  Price is fair, and it’s foldable!  It’s not overly powerful in pedal assist mode 1-3 and has plenty of power in pedal assist modes 4-5.

The Bad
Because it is a bit of a budget bike the parts are good but not great.  Braking is decent but could be better. I’m not fan of the leaving the key in and underneath the bike but this is pretty normal for this style of ebike.
