Aventon Continues to Impress
The Pace 500.3 is the ultimate cruiser e-bike. With it’s swept-back handlebars, 500w motor, hydraulic brakes, brake lights with built in turn signals and torque sensor this bike has everything going for it. Aventon e-bikes are dependable and quality made. Out of the box the Pace 500.3 is powerful with a smooth ride.

Worth the Upgrade?
This is the first Pace 500 to have a torque sensor. All previous models were built with a cadence sensor. Whether or not the upgrade to to bike with a torque sensor will depend on what you want or what you need. E-bikes with a cadence sensor will be good for people that might have issues with pedaling or just want to get started riding again. With a cadence sensor you don’t need to pedal harder to increase your speed. A good steady “cadence” in your pedaling will be all you need. The cadence sensor just needs to have the pedals moving and it will take over and increase to the top speed for whichever pedal assist mode your in. If you want to get more exercise while still getting pedal assist then a e-bike with a torque sensor is for you. The torque sensor will detect the amount of effort your are putting into pedaling and increase speed accordingly. So the Pace 500.3 will be excellent for seasoned riders and riders looking to get exercise on the way out and throttle back home because they are too pooped out to pedal home.

The Good
Because there is always room for improvement I’ll just say the Pace 500.3 by Aventon is as perfect as a cruiser e-bike can be. It’s great for people that want to get a workout but be able to have assistance when they need it. Due to it’s torque sensor and 8 speed shifter, ghost pedaling is gone. The already integrated brake lights have been updated with turn signals. The 500w motor feels like a 750w motor and the hydraulic brakes are excellent. Even the unboxing experience has been improved. The new box system means you no long have to tear the box apart. This is due to the new plastic tabs the hold the box together. You simply squeeze the tabs and pull them out and the box can be pulled apart from the base of the box, keeping everything in tact. Also, they no longer use Styrofoam. Now, all the packing is done with paper. Even the ties are paper strings!
