Pre-Launch Unpack, Ride and Review
I received the Nex Gen Pace 500 four days before Aventon’s launch date for their newest e-bike. With no time to spare I ripped into the box an instantly fell in love with this bike.  As always, the bike has weld marks that can barely be seen and a beautiful paint job in the color they call Celeste.  If you’re familiar with Seafoam Green then you know what color I’m talking about. I had this bike put together in record time.  The install was easy and I could not find a single flaw with the packaging or the bike itself.  Next, I took it out for a ride and couldn’t believe how smooth this bike is.  It has no front suspension, but it does have a slighted upgraded seat that works with this bike.  This bike also has a lot more power than I was expecting from the 500w rear hub motor.  It’s a cruiser on steroids!  As with all the Aventon bikes I have reviewed so far, the Pace 500 comes equipped with a display that can also be controlled via the Aventon app.   Maybe one of the reasons it felt like it has a lot of torque is that I unlocked the beast from inside the app.  Yes, in the app you can increase it’s max pedal assisted speed from 20mph to 28mph.  Of course, I don’t suggest you do this but it’s there if you need a little more oomph.

I’m sure the Pace 500 looks good in any color but I have to say that the one I got in Celeste is beautiful!

The Good
Multiple colors, hydraulic brakes, 500w motor, street tires that are also good off road, backlit display with Aventon app, up to 40 mile range, class 2 20mph limit but can be unlocked to reach a 28mph limit, Aventon high quality and excellent support.

The Bad
None

Overall
It’s a great cruiser bike with a lot more power than I expected.  If you’re looking for a great bike to take to the beach or just to ride around the city this is the bike for you.
