Aventon Soltera.2 Electric Bike Now with Torque Sensor and Built In Turn Signals

What is the Soltera.2?
The Soltera.2 is Aventon’s second generation of their electric road bike the Soltera. It’s a road e-bike that looks like a traditional road bike. Many people will be fooled by its stylish, sleek frame and might even think you’re lying to them when you tell them it’s an e-bike. This actually happened once to me! It’s beautifully built and like many of Aventon’s e-bikes the are little to no weld marks on the frame and the paint job is gorgeous.
Some Highlights
If you own an e-bike with a cadence sensor then you probably know and dislike ghost pedaling. Ghost pedaling occurs when the bike out speed your ability to keep up by pedaling and you no longer feel any resistance when you pedal. Well, the Soltera now has a torque sensor that senses the effort you are putting into pedaling and gives you assistance. This is great if you actually want a little more of a workout than you can get with a cadence sensor e-bike. Since I’ve been riding Aventon e-bikes they have always had integrated brake lights in the bikes body but now the Soltera also has turn signals built into them as well.

- IPX4 rating which means it can handle light splashes from any direction and is generally okay to ride in light rain but don’t expose it to prolonged rain or use a pressurized spray on it
- Available in 4 Colors: Citrine, Midnight Black, Storm Blue, Ghost White
- Motor 36V, 350W Brushless Rear Hub Motor with Torque Sensor
- Removable lithium-ion 36v 9.6Ah battery with LG cells and is in compliance with UL 2849
- The battery takes approximately 4-5 hours to charge
- LCD Color Display with Backlight, w/ App Connectivity
- Mechanical Disc Brakes with 180mm rotors
- 7-Speed Shimano with a 170mm crank-set that pairs well with their new torque sensor technology
- 700c x 38 mm tires
- Throttle + Pedal Assist Modes
- Available with a Step-Through frame (reviewed) and a Traditional Standard bike frame

The Good
Every e-bike from Aventon is well built with a lot of quality and their new Soltera.2 is no exception. This e-bike is light, great looking and with the addition of a torque sensor and integrated brake lights with turn signals this is sure to be another winner.
The Bad
Nothing, nada! As for a road e-bike, I can’t find one bad thing to say about the Soltera.2.
Overall
I predict that the Soltera.2 will be popular among traditional road riders looking to transition over to a road e-bike. Really, anyone that just wants a great road bike should definitely look into the Soltera.2. It’s a smooth ride that looks great and rides great. Thanks to the torque sensor yo no longer have to worry about ghost pedaling and can expect a much more full riding experience.
