The Mokwheel Tarmac is equipped with both a cadence sensor and a torque sensor and has a whole lot of new useful features.

The Tarmac is beautifully designed commuter eBike that will also work well with light gravel riding too.

Why You Want It

The Tarmac is a well priced, bang for your buck eBike.  It’s also a very modern eBike with a fresh, new removable display and it’s integrated lighted rear rack and use of both a cadence and torque sensor.   

Mokwheel Tarmac eBike Specs

  • APPEARANCE

    The Tarmac comes in three colors: Phantom Black, Marine Blue and Pine Green. Very little weld marks. With its thinner tires it has more of a traditional street bike look.

  • BATTERY and RIDE RANGE

    The Tarmac is powered by a 48V 15A battery which should get you up to a range between 50-60 miles. *Note that the range will vary depending on your weight, style of riding, and the type of terrain you’re riding on.

  • MOTOR and TORQUE

    The motor has a peak power of 920w and has 75Nm of torque.

  • SENSOR TYPE

  • SPEED

    Throttle only will get you up to 20 mph but once you get up to 20 mph if you release the throttle and just pedal the Tarmac will get up to 28 mph.

    Front and rear 180mm Tektro Hydraulic Disc Brakes

  • SUSPENSION

    The Tarmac comes with air suspension fork with 80mm of travel.

  • LIGHTS

    The front light is built into the frame of the bike and provides good lighting. However, you may want to use some zip ties to help keep the cables from blocking the front light.

    The Tarmac comes with brake lights that also serve as turn signals and then on top of that is something that was a complete surprise to me is that the rear rack has an integrated light that mimics brake and turn signal lights.

The Good

Looks
Great looking commuter eBike. Paint has very view weld marks.  Built in front light and rear lights include brake and turn signals.  The rear rack also has an integrated light that mimic both the brake and turn signal lights.

Security
The Tarmac has an updated removable display.  By removing the display it will render any rider anyone from turning the bike on.  While it can’t stop anyone from taking the bike it can help to discourage someone from wanting it.

The Bad

The Tarmac is an excellent eBike and I can’t really find anything to complain about.  

Overall

The Mokwheel Tarmac is a great eBike for commuting or getting out for a ride.  The removable display, front air shock and integrated rear brake and turn signal lights along with the integrated lighted rear rack are all welcomed upgrades to any eBike.
