Affordability
The Viribus is a very affordable eTrike and at the time of this review it’s currently going for only $849.
Speed
It’s a single speed eTrike with three power assist levels, low, medium and high and is controlled by a thumb throttle. Top speed for this eTrike is 12mph. A quick note: generally, average trikes aren’t made for going fast. At high speeds that can have a tendency to tip over when making fast turns.
Size Options
There are two different tire size options to choose from which are 24” and 26”… the one sent to me for review has 26” x 1.75” wide tires.
Range
It has a range of up to 21.7 miles when using the throttle only but up to 30 miles with peddle assist. Keep in mind that milage will vary depending on terrain, hills, payload and things like that.
Motor
This trike is equipped with a 350w motor that peaks at 650w. It doesn’t have a lot of torque. Small to medium hills should be okay but I don’t think it can make it up any big hills.
Battery
The battery is a 36v, 360Wh lithium battery.
eTrike Weight and Rider Height
The trike weighs 77lbs and can handle a payload of up to 330lbs and riders from 5’3” to 5’11”.
Lights
For lighting it has a pretty average front light and reflectors are mounted on the rear fenders. I would rather have had lights in the back of this trike but you can always buy an aftermarket light from places like Amazon. Here is a link to the one I would use: https://amzn.to/3wn9vCx
Brakes
This eTrike comes with two mechanical brakes, on up front and one on the rear axel. The eTrike isn’t that fast so these brakes are adequate. Also, Viribus added a parking brake which I really like a lot and a great plus for the eTrike. Once you’ve stopped you simply engage the front brake and pull in the locking lever. To release the parking brake, just squeeze the front brake and the locking lever will release.
Likes
- It’s a good looking trike.
- I also like that it sits closer to the ground which to me makes it feel a little safer.
- Now, I like faster e-bikes but because this is an eTrike I do appreciate that its top speed only 12 mph. I’d still slow down in the turns but this slower top speed should make it less likely to tip over.
- I really like that Viribus included a parking brake. This will help to prevent your trike from rolling away when left on an uneven surface.
- It comes a very usable, large rear basket and the basket feels very solid too.
Dislikes
- The one thing I dislike about all the trikes I’ve ridden so far is that they all have a tendency to tip over when taking turns too fast and this one is no different.
- Instead of reflectors in the rear fenders I would rather have electric brakes lights built into them. Also, I’d like to be able to use rear fender lights as turn signals.
- To help with ghost pedaling a torque sensor would be nice too.

What To Expect With Assembly
The Viribus Trio Plus does require a bit more parts to assemble than an eBike but since it’s a single speed you won’t need to worry about installing a derailleur. Installing everything is pretty straight forward and should not take too long to assemble.
Who Is This eTrike For
Like most trikes this is going to be a fun little cruiser. If you enjoy a slower more casual style of riding this could be the bike for you. It has a good rear basket for small shopping, maybe throw some supplies in it and go to the park for a BBQ. Or maybe throw in some towels and a party speaker and meetup with your friends at the beach.
