This is the Nomad 1 by Velotric and will be one of two bikes that I’ll be giving away soon.
As soon as I review both bikes, I’ll take my friends out for a ride with them and get their opinions and then the big giveaway!
Who Is The Nomad 1 For?
The Nomad 1 by Velotric will be great for those seeking adventure. Whether you use it as a commuter bike, exercise or for the thrill of off- road riding the Nomad 1 will deliver. It has a 48V, 692Wh battery with 75 Newton Meters of Torque. What I like about this is that it has a lot of power for hills and some off-roading.
Classy?
The Nomad 1 is a Class 2 ebike that can reach up to 20 miles per hour. There is a way to unlock it for a bit more speed essentially turning it into a class 3 ebike but you’ll need to contact Vellotric if this is something you want to do.
Lasting Power
Velotric claims the Nomad 1 has a 55 mile range with pedal assist and a 52 mile range when only using the throttle. Of course range is going to be affected by things like weight, if you’re going uphill a lot. Depending on which power assist level you’re using that can effect your range as well.
Throttle
You can throttle or pedal thru the different power assist modes from 1 thru 5 of ride it like a regular bike by leaving the bike in mode 0.
Payload
Per Velortric The max load for the Discover 1 is 440 pounds and can fit riders from 5’1 to 6’9
Display
The display has a 5v 500mA USB port for external devices like a phone. For myself I don’t plan on using it because it’s just another drain on the battery but it’s good to know its there for that Just In Case moment when you need to use your phone and it’s running low on power.

The Good
The Nomad 1 is a great all around e-bike for commuters and thrill seekers alike. It’s also priced right for a bike in its category.
The Bad
The bike is solid but because there is nothing that stands out I’ll be giving it 4 out of 5 stars.
SpiderWayne Rating – Solid but no new tricks that stand out.
4 out of 5 SpiderWayne’s
