The Varla Eagle One V2.0 Is What The V1.0 Should Have Been
Having experience with both the original Eagle One and the Eagle One V2.0, I will say I very much prefer the V2.0. Varla’s first iteration of the Eagle One was impressive with it’s raw power but over time I felt it could have been made a bit more safe for the rider. My biggest beef with the original Eagle One is the stem. It was tubular in shape which made it feel like it had some flex in it. Also, the clamping system would constantly have to be re-tightened. Now, the Eagle One V2.0 has borrowed a couple of things from it’s big brother, the Eagle One Pro like the triangular shaped stem. This stem feels strong and the clamping system which is also borrowed from the Eagle One Pro just feel stronger and more secure. Another thing that I felt could use a change on the original Eagle One is the display. The old display was very generic and would be seen on many other scooters. Now, the new Eagle One V2.0 has the same display and NFC card ready that the Eagle One Pro has and I very much appreciate this. It makes the scooter more secure and the display looks way better.
More Efficient Use Of Power Via Sine Wave Controllers
Varla has equipped the new Eagle One V2.0 with dual 1000w motors with a peak power of 1600w. The motors are powered by 2x25A sine wave controllers which provide a smoother with more precise control over the motors. To me it has a more gradual, controlled feel than most scooters that I’ve reviewed. It has a top speed of 40 Mph and 36 Nm Torque. Getting to your destination whether on flat roads or a road with up to 30 degree slopes and hills will be no problem.
Be Seen
When Varla set out to create this updated version of the Eagle One they didn’t stop with a stronger stem and sine wave controllers, nope, they also added side ambient lighting which, in addition makes it a cooler looking escooter, it also makes it safer. Now, you can be seen from all direction. Maybe not as much during the day but this will definitely help in the early to late evenings. The side ambient lighting comes in three switchable modes: the first is called Breathing, the second is Flash and third is Streamer. See my video review for a ambient light demo.

The Good
The Eagle One V2.0 has a stronger stem, more controllable motors and ambient lighting which makes it an excellent escooter. The sign wave controllers help keep the motors under control and seemingly keeps them a bit quieter.
The Bad
The first two power modes can feel a bit underwhelming to experienced riders. However, the power is there. Change to modes 3, 4 and 5 for a much more aggressive ride. I would have liked to see a partner app with includes security setting for this amazing escooter.
Overall
This is a keeper! The ride feels smooth and stable, even at high speeds. It’s a blast to ride and you can feel all the quality that goes in to all Varla escooters in the Eagle One V2.0.
