Monster Zero Rising (MZR)

MZR was formed in 1987 by Ron Cox and Wayne Louie with the idea of doing metal music in a variety of styles. Some of the band musical influences are, Loudness, Thin Lizzy, Metallica, Rush, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Megadeath, Gary Moore, Rainbow.

In 1988 Ron and Wayne were joined by Isaias Camarena Jr. on bass completing the music side. Although the band was never able to find the right vocalist to round out the line up, they played live anyway as an instrumental unit. Putting out a variety of metal music form thrash to progressive to and all points in between.

In 1990 the guys went their separate ways and followed their various creative pursuits individually until some 20 years later getting back together for a jam session just for fun. Wayne decide to record the event and the end result was awesome. The band sounded as good as if not better than they did when they first began, so it was decided that they would get together and play once a year, as everyone’s schedule permitted.
