  • APPEARANCE

    The Cougar is styled with the cafe racer in mind. This particular style prioritizes a sporty, performance-oriented appearance.

  • BATTERY and RIDE RANGE

    Battery - The Cougar comes with a 20Ah battery that will take about 6hrs to fully charge.

    Range - Max range is listed by Revibikes to be between 60 to 80 miles. Keep in mind your milage may vary depending on terrain, style of riding and payload.

  • MOTOR and TORQUE

    The standard Cougar has a 52V, 750W rear hub motor with 80Nm of torque with a peak output of 1000W.

  • SENSOR TYPE

    Cadence sensor

  • Gearing

    The Cougar is a single speed eBike

  • Class

    The Cougar is shipped as a class 3 eBike. This means when you are only using the throttle it can reach a top speed of 20 mph and when are only pedaling it can reach a top speed of 28 mph.

    The Cougar has 5 riding modes to suit your local eBike regulations. Note: The ReviBikes website says the Cougar can reach a top speed of 36Mph and I can confirm that in my tests it is able to do this. However, here in the US class 1 through 3 are probably the only legal modes so might not want to change the class modes to 4 or 5.

    5 pedal assist modes.

    20” x 4” Fat tires

  • BRAKES

    Front and rear hydraulic disc brakes with 180mm rotors.

  • SUSPENSION

    The Cougar has Dual suspension: The front fork has 60mm travel, and the rear a 230mm spring with 90mm of travel.

  • LIGHTS

    The Cougar comes with a front light with built in turn signals. And a rear brake light which also has built in turn signals.

  • Display

    Full color display with a USB port. The USB port is for both device charging and firmware updates but updates as with most eBike companies rarely happen.

    The display will show you the PAS Level, Battery Level, Current Speed, Mode, Odometer, Trip, Class 1,2,3,4,5 Model Selection.

  • WATER PROOF RATING

    NA

  • SEAT/SADDLE

    Non adjustable.
    The seat is made with elastic foam which is pretty comfortable.

  • WEIGHT, PAYLOAD and RIDER HEIGHT

    Weight - The Cougar with the battery weighs 80 lbs
    Payload - Up to 300 Lbs
    Rider Height - Rider Height ranges from 5’1” to 6’6”

The Good

Looks
The Cougar is styled with the cafe racer in mind. If you like the style motorcycles from the 1950s and 60s then you’ll like the look of the Cougar. 

Power 
High power motor, lots of torque, dual suspension, hydraulic brakes, fat tires. 

The Revibike Cougar is delivered as a class 3 eBike but their website says that the Cougar can get up to 36Mph, this is true but only if you’re willing to change the Cougar to a class 5 eBike. This is inadvisable due to the fact that most states have adopted a three-tiered classification system for ebikes, based on their motor assistance and speed capabilities: 

  • Class 1: Pedal-assist only, with motor assistance up to 20 mph.

  • Class 2: Throttle-assisted, with motor assistance up to 20 mph.

  • Class 3: Pedal-assist only, with motor assistance up to 28 mph.

The Bad

Unless you don’t like cafe racer style eBikes I don’t have any complaints. 

Overall

The Cougar by ReviBikes is a lot of fun to ride.  It’s a well built eBike and is equipped with a lot of premium features often found in higher priced eBikes like dual suspension, hydraulic brakes and turn signals.
