-
Display
It has a detachable high definition display that looks great for both day and night riding. Removing the display doesn’t make the bike unridable because you can still ride it like a non-powered bike but there are a few good reasons for having a removable display.
- Removing the display can make the eBike less appealing to would be thieves
- This could help to protect the display if you stop and it starts to rain
- Being removable will make it a lot easier to replace should there ever be damage to the display.
-
SADDLE
The saddle is a very standard saddle. It’s comfortable enough but some people might want to swap it out for something else. Personal I’m fine with it but if I did change anything I’d probably swap out the seat post for a suspension seat post. I have a couple that I use and like a lot. I’ll add links to them to the comments and description below in you want to get one.

The Good
Looks
The Mokwheel Basalt ST 2.0 looks great. The paint has a high gloss with minimal weld marks. It’s a fat tire eBike with the fat tire eBike looks so if you are into fat tire eBikes you’ll be very happy with the Basalt ST 2.0.
Power
The Basalt ST 2.0 is equipped with a 750w rear hub motor that peaks at 1100w and 90Nm of torque. Overall, this is a lot of power and in most normal situations it will easily get you where you’re going.
Speed Class(s)
This is a class 2 eBike with a top speed of 20 mph when using the throttle. However, if you pedal only with power assist mode 5 the Basalt ST 2.0 will reach up to 28 mph.
Lights
The front headlight is pretty standard but I love how the rear brake/turn signal lights are built into the rear frame of the eBike as well as attached to the rear rack.
Display
The display works well for both day and night riding but the clever part of the display is that it’s removable. This can help with would be bike thieves. The electronics on this eBike are rendered useless without the display so make sure to remove it when leaving your eBike alone for a while.
At the time of writing my review the Mokwheel Basalt ST 2.0 eBike is priced at $1299.99.
